Features: With the deepening of judicial system reform, the publication of court judgments has been included as part of the efforts to promote judicial openness. This initiative helps improve the quality of judgment documents, facilitates public access and supervision, and also has positive implications for legislative improvement, law enforcement enhancement, and the advancement of legal teaching and research. As a bridge between courts and readers, we have collaborated with courts across various regions to edit and publish the serial publication Selected Judgments of the People's Courts. This series is edited by the high courts of provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government and is published in chronological order. The series began in 2000 and has been published annually or biannually by province, autonomous region, or municipality since then. The content of the series includes judgments, orders, and mediation agreements made by high courts and selected intermediate or primary courts across different regions. The selected cases are representative or present certain challenges in terms of judgment complexity. The case descriptions are clear and concise, and the opinions of the prosecution, defense, and court are insightful, thorough, and rational, demonstrating strong persuasiveness and enlightenment. The facts and legal applications by the trial authorities are relatively accurate, offering guidance. The editorial format of the series is as follows:
1. Judgment documents are divided into several categories: criminal, civil (including economic, intellectual property, etc.), administrative, and state compensation. Each category is further subdivided into several subcategories: criminal cases are arranged according to the order of the Criminal Code of the People's Republic of China; civil cases are arranged according to the classification of civil case types issued by the Supreme People's Court in October 2000 (Provisional Regulations on the Classification of Civil Case Types); administrative cases are arranged by department while also considering content; state compensation cases are divided into administrative compensation and judicial compensation.
2. Within the same category of cases, orders are listed before judgments, and cases are arranged in chronological order.
3. For the same case, judgment documents from higher courts are listed before those from lower courts.
We are making our initial attempt to edit such a large-scale series. Any shortcomings are welcome to be pointed out by readers for valuable suggestions and opinions.
