Features: Since its publication in 2004, this textbook has received great attention and support from peers in various sister institutions and relevant experts, as well as many valuable suggestions and revisions. We sincerely express our gratitude at this time of the second edition's publication! This revision maintains the original characteristics of the textbook while addressing shortcomings in the first edition. Additionally, Chapter 9 "Capillary Electrophoresis Analysis" and Chapter 18 "Mass Spectrometry Analysis" have been rewritten. Considering teaching needs and disciplinary development, three new chapters—"Thermal Analysis," "Flow Injection Analysis," and "Microfluidic Analysis"—have been added, enhancing the textbook's applicability and making its content system more complete. Microfluidic analysis has emerged as a highly notable achievement in analytical science over the past decade, with rapid development. Currently, content on this topic is still scarce in textbooks. The purpose of adding this material and making it a standalone chapter is twofold: first, to recognize its importance and sustainable development prospects, ensuring the textbook remains up-to-date; second, to enable students to gain a deeper understanding of disciplinary trends, which is more conducive to fostering innovative thinking and abilities.
