Features: This book introduces the concept of discourse into reading methods. Traditional reading techniques generally focus only on sentences or paragraphs, making the entire reading process isolated and passive. After incorporating the concept of discourse, the reading process becomes coherent and active. By analyzing authentic CET-4 reading passages, we discovered the patterns between discourse structures and question-setting, allowing us to grasp the article's framework quickly and enhance problem-solving. When tackling reading questions, it is often difficult to first fully understand the entire article before answering, as time in the exam is limited. Another reason for slow problem-solving speed is a lack of sensitivity to question points. The second concept proposed in this book is the Keyword Positioning Method for Solving Problems. This involves locating the source of the question in the original text using keywords from the question stem or options, then carefully studying the key points to derive the answer. Discourse Reading Method involves predicting key points based on discourse patterns during reading. Keyword Positioning Method involves finding key points through questions. Combining these two methods ensures precise comprehension of the text and rapid problem-solving—this is the essence of bidirectional accelerated reading.
