These stories provide a wealth of everyday scenarios and language expressions. Although some of the language in the stories may seem awkward due to the need to create a certain atmosphere, many of them are witty and rhyming, reminiscent of tongue twisters. Try to find these sentences and read them aloud. This is not to say that you won’t say such things in real life. On the contrary, one of the joys of learning a language is learning how to play with words, mixing absurd words to say clever things, using double meanings to create contradictions, and employing social commentary to produce ironic effects.
