Features: When it comes to digitalization, people's association is with computers. The emergence of computers is profoundly impacting our lives, learning, and work, and is ruthlessly changing our perspectives, forcing us to abandon many knowledge structures and skills we once prided ourselves on. In the midst of this, we feel somewhat lost, accompanied by confusion, excitement, fear, and surprise. Against this backdrop, as industrial designers, we are on one hand reflecting on the development history of industrial design and its own developmental laws, and on the other hand exploring how computers have brought changes in concepts, methods, and forms to industrial design. The realms of both computers and industrial design are vast. As companies, they have a complete CAD/CAE/CAM design, inspection, and manufacturing system; while as current university teaching, neither expensive software and hardware nor extensive training time are available. Therefore, we can only explore a form of computer-aided design education suitable for university teaching with the existing equipment and methods. This book is precisely based on this spirit, conducting a comprehensive exploration of the relationship between industrial design and computers, how computers can function in industrial design, and how to achieve an organic integration of design and computers, in order to summarize some practical experiences meaningful to the practice and education of industrial design.
