Features: The original Yifang Leiju (annotated edition) was published in Japan. At that time, due to the country's needs, Yifang Leiju. Index was compiled as a separate volume, but it had not been published domestically. To facilitate reader retrieval and further improve the quality of the Yifang Leiju annotations, the original Yifang Leiju. Index was specially revised. Below are the conventions and methods for compiling the formula, disease, and book title indexes of this book:
### I. Formula Index
1. The scope of formulas listed in this index is limited to those in this book marked with formula names. Those with only chief indications without formula names, or those labeled as "alternative formulas" or "verified formulas" with uncertain names, are not included.
2. The formula names listed in this index are consistent with those in the main text of this book.
3. The index is arranged in order of the number of strokes in the first character of the formula names. After each formula name, the volume number, subvolume number, and page number of the subvolume where it is included in this book are noted. For formulas with the same number of strokes, they are arranged according to stroke order (horizontal, vertical, left-falling, dot, hook). If the first characters have the same number of strokes, they are arranged by the number of strokes in the second character. If the first and second characters have the same number of strokes, they are arranged by the number of strokes in the third character. This pattern continues for subsequent characters.
4. For the same formula, only the first occurrence is listed with the formula name, while subsequent occurrences are listed with the subvolume number, volume number, and page number in the order they appear in the book.
5. For the same formula name appearing in the same subvolume and volume but different page numbers, commas are added after each page number. For the same formula name appearing in the same subvolume but different volumes, semicolons are added after the page numbers. For the same formula name appearing in different subvolumes, they are listed in subvolume order, each on a new line.
6. For formulas listed only by name without composition or dosage, and originally annotated as "formula see ×× section," the volume number, subvolume number, and page number of this book are still noted according to the above conventions.
7. Formulas with different names, multiple names, the same chief indications, composition, and dosage but different names due to different sources, or different names due to variations in drug names (e.g., Huangqi Tang and Huangqin Tang, Bidian San and Biba San) are listed as separate formulas for ease of retrieval.
Example Format:
Ren Shen Tang 1/10/279, 280; 11/291, 293; 3/58/370, 372
Annotations: "1, 3" are subvolume numbers; "10, 11, 58" are volume numbers; "279, 280, 291, 293, 370, 372" are subvolume page numbers.
### II. Disease Index
1. The scope of diseases listed in this index is limited to those in this book that appear in the table of contents or as headings in the main text. Diseases mentioned in the text that do not fall under the above categories are not included.
2. For ease of retrieval, after each disease, the subvolume number, volume number, and page number where the disease is included in this book are noted. If the same disease appears in different places, they are listed in the order they appear in the text, separated by semicolons.
3. Diseases in the index are arranged by the number of strokes in the first character and stroke order (same as the formula index).
4. Diseases with different names or multiple names are listed as separate disease names for ease of retrieval.
5. For the first occurrence of the same disease, the disease name is listed, while subsequent occurrences are listed with the subvolume number, volume number, and page number in the order they appear in the book (same arrangement as the formula index).
6. Titles in the original book often combine disease names with treatment, such as "Cough Treatment" or "Lei Yin Formulas." In such cases, only the disease names like "Cough" or "Lei Yin" are included, while the remaining text is excluded.
Example Format:
Toothache 4/71/213, 215; 72/262
Annotations: Same as the formula index.
### III. Book Title Index
1. The scope of literature listed in this index is limited to those in this book that appear in the table of contents. Literature mentioned in the main text or formulas is not included.
2. The index is arranged in order of the number of strokes in the first character of the book titles.
3. For the first occurrence of the same book title, the book name is listed, while subsequent occurrences are listed with the subvolume number, volume number, and page number in the order they appear in the book (same arrangement as the formula index).
Example Format:
Sanyin Fang 1/25/702, 708, 713, 724; 26/742, 749
Annotations: Same as the formula index.
