Features: The 21st century is an era of highly information-based society and highly knowledge-based economy, as well as a time of rapid development of the knowledge economy. The advent of the knowledge economy era has been widely recognized by scholars and various institutions. After the mid-1990s, a wave of research on the knowledge economy emerged, and it is no longer a new topic to discuss how China can seize opportunities and meet challenges in this era. The role of knowledge capital in agricultural production has undergone a process from non-existent to existing, from small to large. In the initial agricultural production activities, the abundance of natural resources played a decisive role, with land, livestock, and labor being symbols of agricultural productivity. Later, as agricultural knowledge and technology improved, machinery, fertilizers, and pesticides began to be applied, and the importance of material capital gradually rose, eventually replacing natural resources in playing a decisive role in agriculture. During the industrial society era, agricultural machinery, land, fertilizers, and pesticides became symbols of agricultural productivity. In the knowledge economy era, with the continuous development and application of science and technology, knowledge has become an important capital, replacing natural resources and material capital in playing a decisive role in production. Analyzing this process reveals that agricultural development has evolved from the simple utilization of natural resources to the intensive use of material capital and knowledge capital. The role of knowledge capital in agricultural production, as experienced in this process, is a significant aspect of the intellectualization of agriculture.
