Features: This book categorizes countries worldwide into three types—industrialized countries, developing large countries, and developing small countries—based on population size, economic development level, and economic development scale from the perspective of the relative role of institutions in economic development and the difficulty of institutional change. On this basis, it proposes the central thesis of the book: the continuous deepening of trade liberalization promotes the construction and improvement of domestic market institutions in developing large countries, and through the channel of driving domestic economic transformation toward market institutions, trade liberalization can facilitate the sustained adjustment development of developing large countries. At the same time, due to the significant constraints imposed by non-economic factors such as a country's specific historical culture and political structure on the speed and extent of institutional change in developing large countries, the impact of trade liberalization on institutional change and economic development in these countries is uneven. The book also summarizes the overall research conclusions and related policy recommendations. At the end of the book, the author proposes relevant policy recommendations based on some conclusions drawn from the analysis.
