Features: This book is further revised and perfected based on my doctoral dissertation and finally finalized. The core of the book is about the regional coordinated development of the insurance industry. The focus and research on this issue are mainly based on the excessive regional gaps and imbalances in the development of China's insurance industry. These gaps and imbalances have become the "bottleneck" for the current development of China's insurance industry, hindering the healthy and rapid development of the national insurance industry, restricting and limiting the functions and roles of insurance, and affecting the construction of a harmonious society and a moderately prosperous society. The policy adopted is to actively promote the sustainable development of developed regions and accelerate the development of underdeveloped regions, achieving coordinated development among different regions. The selection of the topic benefited from two important opportunities: One is the correct ideas and policies of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission leadership regarding the development of China's insurance industry, especially the theoretical innovations of Chairman Wu Dingfu on the stage theory, function theory, and development theory of the insurance industry, which serve as an important theoretical basis for my research on regional insurance development and provide direction for my research. The other important opportunity is the establishment of the development and opening-up policy of the Tianjin Binhai New Area by the State Council, which created a favorable policy environment for me to focus on the development of regional insurance in Tianjin and further study the regional development of insurance nationwide.
