Features: In June 2003, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Study Outline on the Important Thought of 'Three Represents'." Subsequently, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China also issued the "Notice of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Launching a New High Tide of Learning and Implementing the Important Thought of 'Three Represents' in the Entire Party" (abbreviated as "Notice"). The Notice clearly stated: "Educating the broad youth, especially young students, with the Important Thought of 'Three Represents' is related to the future and destiny of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. We must attach great importance to the theoretical training of young students, strengthen the compilation of teaching materials and the construction of teaching staff, promote the Important Thought of 'Three Represents' into teaching materials, into the classroom, and into the minds of students. Higher educational institutions should systematically teach the Important Thought of 'Three Represents.'" On July 1, Comrade Hu Jintao delivered an important speech at the theoretical symposium on the Important Thought of "Three Represents," profoundly elaborating on the theoretical significance, practical value, essential requirements, and scientific attitudes to be adhered to in learning and implementing the Important Thought of "Three Represents" from the perspective of the overall development of the Party and the country. He also profoundly explained the major significance and basic requirements of launching a new high tide of learning and implementing the Important Thought of "Three Represents."
To further implement the "Notice" and Comrade Hu Jintao's "July 1st" speech, and to further deepen the "Three Represents" work of "Three Represents" into teaching materials, into the classroom, and into the minds of students, the Research Center for the Important Thought of "Three Represents" at Renmin University of China and the School of Marxism at Renmin University of China organized renowned professors of Renmin University of China to compile the "Twelve Lectures on the Important Thought of 'Three Represents'" on the basis of the officially published work. Based on the "Study Outline on the Important Thought of 'Three Represents'" and in accordance with Comrade Hu Jintao's "July 1st" speech, they absorbed the latest theoretical achievements of the Important Thought of "Three Represents" in China and compiled the "Special Lectures on the Important Thought of 'Three Represents'." We believe that the publication of this book will provide an important reference value for arming young college students with the Important Thought of "Three Represents" and improving the effectiveness of the "Three Represents" work of "Three Represents" into teaching materials, into the classroom, and into the minds of students.
