On the Equilibrium of Forces (Complete Four Volumes): New Compendium of the Classics

Author: Huang Hui
Publisher:
Publishing Time: Not available
Features: The book will be published in two volumes. The first volume includes books that are similar to the old "Collected Works of the Masters of the Six Schools," which are frequently referenced by researchers. All texts are selected from the best available annotated editions to date. For a very few that still lack annotations, new annotations will be provided. Some books include multiple annotated editions, each with its own strengths. To maintain consistency in style, except for a few exceptions, only annotated editions written in classical or colloquial classical Chinese are included. Both the main text and annotations of each book are uniformly marked with modern punctuation, and printing or typesetting errors are corrected. The second volume collects other works on the Six Schools outside the first volume. Most of these works lack existing annotated editions. For those that require annotations, they will be provided. The rest will be selected from the best available editions for collation. Many of the works in this volume are incomplete or fragmented. During the compilation process, different approaches are taken based on the specific circumstances: some are selected from existing, well-edited collections, while others require supplementary or recompilation. Some works in the Six Schools are forgeries or suspected forgeries. However, those with earlier origins, historical significance, and some reference value for certain research topics may be included selectively.
