Urbanization Theory and Practice: Some Research on the Urbanization Process in Yunnan

Author: Li Ligang et al

Features: This project was a key research project under the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" of the Philosophy and Social Sciences of Yunnan Province and a key research project of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences, both of which were led by me. It was concluded under the title "Urbanization Theory and Practice." The research for this project spanned two years. For a topic like this, one can either choose any subject to discuss casually or conduct in-depth research—it depends on how you approach it. While the authors of this book may not claim to have conducted in-depth research on every topic, they certainly avoid superficial discussions and offer insights from firsthand investigations and studies. The members of the research team have diverse backgrounds, motivations, interests, experiences, and even perspectives, but "Urbanization Theory and Practice" is a theme that all members of the team unanimously agree upon. This book does not aim for comprehensiveness but seeks to ensure that each research topic has distinct characteristics and persuasive arguments—the theory should be convincing, and the research should be representative. It does not strive for completeness but aims for a certain depth in the research findings, allowing readers to perceive the historical evolution and current progress of urbanization in Yunnan, as well as to experience the weight of history and the reality of being immersed in it.
