Features: Art: A Person Is a Person Through Art is designed to introduce students with little or no background in the humanities to the joys that the humanities bring to us. Our goal has always been to share our passion for the humanities as experiences of the mind and emotion. Through learning thoughtful reflection and gaining knowledge of creative arts, students will also better understand themselves. Art: A Person Is a Person Through Art narrates the outstanding achievements of the humanities throughout history. Although our approach is thematic rather than chronological, the historical context still plays a vital role in understanding specific works and will continue to do so. We are grateful for the past achievements because we share a very close kinship with those who lived in the past and still exist. Their words and actions can help us understand today. We will continue to discover new reasons to experience joy and be inspired by the sensibilities reflected in works from the past, present, Western, non-Western, male, female, and diverse racial and cultural contexts.
Features of this edition: This edition has reached its 7th version because the humanities are alive and will always be alive. As part of our daily lives, they must grow and change. Based on this understanding, this edition includes several important revisions that are necessary for our unique way of engaging with the humanities.
