Features: In May 2005, at the commission of the Longdai Ancient Town in Chengdu, the Peking University Urban Design Institute (Shenzhen) and the Hong Kong Zhongying Urban and Architectural Design Center completed the overall design plan for the revitalization and restoration of the ancient town. The plan includes the tourism planning for the town area, the overall urban design, the master control plan, the urban form design of the ancient town, and the construction engineering guidelines, as well as the design of streets and squares, and the main structure architectural design. The design also draws on the concepts and methods of European ancient town design and revitalization. In the five months following the completion of the plan, the design center served as the chief consultant for the implementation of the project. This book authentically documents the entire process of the Longdai Ancient Town revitalization project, from planning and design to the completion of the engineering, and selects some photos from over 10,000 to showcase the 150-day transformation of the ancient town. This book will provide valuable experience for the ongoing ancient town design and revitalization projects in China.
