Features: This book is a planned teaching material for higher political and legal institutions, approved by the Legal Textbook Editorial Department of the Ministry of Justice. Since its publication in 1997, it has been widely adopted by political and legal schools, university law departments, and law schools, achieving good teaching results. At the same time, readers have also provided many valuable suggestions. Based on reader feedback, we made partial revisions in 1999 and 2003. Due to the recent changes in crime types and the situation of combating crime, as well as the continuous emergence of new research findings, it has become urgent to supplement and revise the original textbook. We have recently revised the "Criminal Psychology" textbook and published the 2007 revised edition. Taking this opportunity to publish the revised edition, we have also corrected some flaws in the original textbook caused by minor proofreading errors and writing omissions. The original textbook consisted of 16 chapters. To conduct a deeper study of the social psychological effects of criminal punishment and its effectiveness in crime prevention, a new chapter titled "Criminal Punishment Psychology" has been added. Additionally, "Offender Psychological Rehabilitation" has been incorporated into the scope of criminal psychology as an important part of special prevention.
