Features: The content of this book is set for the beginner stage of sketching learning, specifically sketching (stone sculptures). This is the foundation of sketching. Therefore, the teaching content of this book is based on the principle of "research object, understanding form." Using stone sculptures as the subject and paper and pencil as the medium, we aim to recognize basic shapes, analyze form structures, and train eyes with an "artistic vision," agile and thoughtful minds. This book focuses on explaining basic academic concepts and introducing fundamental art knowledge, enabling students to grasp the basic laws of objects, establish correct observation methods and sketching techniques, cultivate the ability to penetrate and think critically about forms, and lay a solid foundation for future professional development. Art education has been quite effective in cultural exchanges between the East and West, each with its own unique characteristics. Eastern art foundation training is particularly rigorous in materiality and pragmatic spirit. The path of learning art is both a pursuit of thought and emotion and a refinement of skills. In the initial stage, emphasis is placed on practical methods and techniques, while at the same time, one must achieve the realm of "understanding" the true essence of art through serious research and repeated practice. I hope that students who have just stepped into the world of art will study diligently, practice hard, and emphasize the combination of theory and practice to further strengthen the foundation for future artistic creation.
