Features: Still-life painting in color refers to the depiction of various vessels, flowers, fruits, and other daily utensils to express love for life and convey the artist's emotions. Color still-life painting can employ wet painting, dry painting, or a combination of wet and dry techniques. It features vibrant, smooth, and saturated colors with strong expressive power. Additionally, it is performed under relatively stable lighting conditions, which provide highly favorable expressive opportunities. Therefore, color still-life painting is one of the effective methods for understanding, studying, and mastering color. In painting training, the three key points to consider when expressing color are light source color, object color, and environmental color. The scope of color painting research mainly includes two major contents: one is the reasons behind the formation of color phenomena, and the other is the techniques of surface color. Light color is a physical phenomenon. British scientists used a prism to separate light into seven spectral colors: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and violet. However, different objects absorb and reflect light waves differently. For example, when we see green leaves, they absorb other colors of light and reflect green light waves, which forms the basic color of the leaves—object color, or the fundamental hue of an object. Based on this principle, other objects also have their own fundamental hue.
