Features: The army is a banner for the masses. The level of cultural awareness in the army directly affects society. Of course, we must also recognize that the army does not exist in a vacuum. The winds and waves of society will inevitably influence the armed forces. For example, the prevailing social trends of "everything for money" and "only studying is lowly" in recent years have had and continue to have a significant impact on the army. Some people mock today's soldiers with the old saying "scholars meet soldiers, and reason cannot be explained," as if our modern soldiers are still as barbaric, backward, and ignorant as they were back then. In reality, the contemporary People's Liberation Army is vigorously advancing in science and culture, becoming an army with high cultural literacy and advanced science and technology—a fact that cannot be denied by anyone. However, it must be acknowledged that the current cultural and educational level of our army's officers and soldiers still falls far short of the needs of modernizing national defense. We should set the determination and new goals for reading and learning, striving to reach new heights in science and culture. To change the current state of the People's Liberation Army and improve the cultural and scientific literacy of all officers and soldiers, let us start by remembering the saying "Without learning, one does not know," and let us begin with serious reading, reading more, and reading good books!
