Features: Oil painting art originated in the West and has a long history. In different historical periods, many art schools and outstanding representatives emerged. Their thoughts and works reflect the politics, economy, culture, and artistic trends of their time, greatly enriching and expanding the spiritual world of humanity. In this long historical process, Western painting masters have used their skilled painting techniques, from flat line drawings to deep spatial perception; from figurative painting to abstract painting, presenting us with a series of colorful artistic scrolls. What is introduced here mainly focuses on the realistic figurative painting from the 15th to the late 19th century in Europe. The emergence of avant-garde oil painting in China was initially presented to the public with a radical attitude, so many people called it "avant-garde" because of its profound and obscure rationality, which, along with its expressive painting, became aloof from direct contact with real life. As a result, it lost the soil it relied on for survival, and this avant-garde nature became a hollow culture devoid of vitality. Therefore, with the conclusion of the "China Modern Art Exhibition" in 1989, this period of history came to an end.
