Features: Gansu Province, located in the northwest Loess Plateau, has a vast and long territory with diverse climates and abundant fruit resources. It has a long history of fruit cultivation and is one of China's important high-quality fruit production areas. In particular, local regions such as Tianshui, Longnan, Pingliang, and Qingyang have mild climates, ample sunlight, deep soil layers, large temperature differences, moderate spring rainfall, making them suitable for open-field cultivation of sweet cherries. To adapt to the national strategy of developing the western region, scientifically and effectively carry out the afforestation (and grassland restoration) work, leverage regional advantages, adjust planting structures, develop high-efficiency ecological agriculture, expand the cultivation area of sweet cherries, promote the diversification, high quality, and high efficiency of the fruit industry, meet market demands, and accelerate the path to prosperity, we have organized some experienced fruit science and technology personnel. Based on domestic and international relevant materials and combined with their scientific research and production practices, we have compiled the book "Sweet Cherry Cultivation Techniques" to serve as a reference for fruit science and technology workers and fruit farmers engaged in sweet cherry production.
