Features: Sketch teaching plays a pivotal role in printmaking department teaching. Using scientific methods to observe and understand forms, and applying the essential principles of art to analyze and express images are the primary guiding principles of sketch teaching. The contemporary research and extension of sketch language are included as part of the development of foundational skills. Rigorous, simple, and pure techniques are the inevitable conditions for sketch operations. In the programmed technical training, artistic cultivation, aesthetic awareness, and literary concepts are studied as a form of taste to support the systematic process. Uncovering and exploring the realism of objective objects and the artistic nature of sketch culture are an important aspect of sketch teaching. The harmonious unity of scientificity and artistry is the benchmark and approach for sketch expression. Under the influence of both internal and external factors, the artist uses their own simple expressive language to perfect and enrich the subjective form of objective objects. With a positive, proactive, and excited state, the artist selectively extracts the essential characteristics of objective objects, making them interdependent with the subjective self. The visual perception is transformed into perceptual insight, using real scenes to let the audience experience the artist's inner world, adding depth to the flat habit of visual exchange. This art book collects the portrait sketches of first and second-year students from our printmaking department, aiming to exchange experiences, clarify thinking, and explore developmental patterns.
