How to treat neurotic anorexia with dietary therapy?

Patient's question:

I am 34 years old. Recently, I don't know why I always feel nauseous and like vomiting. My stomach aches sometimes with symptoms of burning and acid reflux. I went to the hospital and it got better for a while, but then it started again. How can I use dietary therapy to manage neurotic anorexia?

Doctor's answer:

1、obvious weight loss, more than 15% above the normal average body weight, accompanied by delayed or arrested growth and development.
2、intentionally induced weight loss, with at least one of the following: 1) concealing "foods that cause weight gain"; 2) self-induced vomiting; 3) self-induced defecation; 4) excessive physical activity; 5) taking appetite suppressants or diuretics.
3、frequent psychogenic fear of fatness, referring to a persistent and unusually distressing preoccupation with gaining weight, and the patient sets an excessively low weight limit for themselves.
4、often accompanied by widespread endocrine disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, with women exhibiting amenorrhea (absence of menstruation for at least 3 consecutive menstrual cycles) and men showing loss of sexual interest or impaired sexual function.
