Is it a gastrinoma?

Patient's question:

I am already 27 years old this year. In recent times, I have often felt severe abdominal pain and nausea with vomiting. I suspect it might be a gastrinoma, but I'm not entirely sure. So, I would like to ask the doctor if it could be a gastrinoma?

Doctor's answer:

Gastrinoma is a gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumor, and its main clinical manifestations are usually recurrent and atypical gastrointestinal ulcers, primarily associated with elevated gastric acid secretion. The etiology is currently not very clear and may originate from pancreatic tissue. Confirmation generally requires ultrasound, CT, or MRI. Considering your condition, the possibility of gastrinoma is unlikely. If it is indeed gastrinoma, simple medication is difficult to alleviate it, and surgical intervention along with postoperative chemotherapy is usually required to reduce mortality.
