Do I need to be hospitalized for acute bronchitis?

Patient's question:

Doctor, my husband suddenly got acute bronchitis and needs to be treated. So, do you need to be hospitalized if you have acute bronchitis?

Doctor's answer:

How to determine whether hospitalization is necessary or if consultation with the patient's attending physician based on careful examination results such as chest X-rays and blood tests is required. If the patient's symptoms are relatively prominent and the inflammation is significant upon examination, hospitalization for intravenous treatment can be initiated. If the inflammation is not prominent upon examination, oral medication treatment is sufficient. Use some anti-inflammatory drugs, lung-clearing herbs, and blood-cooling herbs. Pay attention to drinking more water, eating a light diet, avoiding smoking and alcohol, and preventing colds.
