Is chronic hepatitis B with (antibody to HBeAg positive) requiring treatment?

Patient's question:

I am 38 years old. Recently, I feel that my liver is very tired. I haven't had a good appetite. At night, I always feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to the nearby hospital for a check-up and was told it was liver disease. They advised me to get an injection. Is it necessary to treat hepatitis B surface antigen positive (HBsAg positive)?

Doctor's answer:

At this stage, it is not recommended to implement treatment for the condition, as the vast majority of antiviral medications have potential fetal damage. Moreover, liver function is currently normal, so there is no need for treatment even if pregnancy has not occurred. However, to prevent the transmission of the hepatitis B virus after the child is born, it is advisable to promptly vaccinate the child with the hepatitis B vaccine and hepatitis B immune globulin after birth.
