Am I diagnosed with gestational diabetes?

Patient's question:

Because of a certain illness, I have been unable to stop taking medication for a long time. Due to the medication, my endocrine system has become problematic. Now, I want to stop taking the medication and regulate my body. Am I suffering from gestational diabetes?

Doctor's answer:

If you are concerned that you may have gestational diabetes, you should undergo a fasting blood glucose test. If your fasting blood glucose is greater than 5.1 millimoles per liter, you can be directly diagnosed with gestational diabetes. If your fasting blood glucose is between 4.4 and 5.1 millimoles per liter, you can undergo a 75-gram glucose tolerance test. If the blood glucose level after one hour is elevated by more than 10.0 millimoles per liter, or the blood glucose concentration after two hours is greater than 8.5 millimoles per liter, you can be diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
