Can people with kidney cysts eat eggs?

Patient's question:

Recently, my appetite has been poor, and I've been experiencing some swelling in my body. I feel weak all over. When I went to the hospital for a check-up, they said it's kidney disease. Can I eat eggs with kidney cysts?

Doctor's answer:

Kidney cysts can be eaten with eggs. Kidney cysts are generally related to hereditary factors across generations. Early-stage patients often show no symptoms, and the growth is relatively slow. They are usually discovered during health check-ups. If the growth is rapid and compresses surrounding tissues, additional symptoms may appear. In terms of treatment, irregular follow-ups are sufficient for cysts larger than 4 cm in diameter. For cysts smaller than 4 cm, puncture and fluid drainage or surgical removal can be considered. It is recommended to eat less spicy and irritating foods and consume more fruits and vegetables.
