Foreign Mathematical Classics Series (Reprint Edition) 24 Algebraic Number Theory

Author: Neukirch
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2007-01-01
Features: It is a good thing that Science Press purchased the copyright and photocopied 23 mathematics books published by Springer, and it is also worth continuing this work. Broadly speaking, among these 28 books, there are 5 fundamental mathematics books, 6 applied mathematics books, and 12 computational mathematics books, some of which also have interdisciplinary characteristics. These books are all very new, with the majority published after 2000, totaling 16 books, and the rest were published after 1990. These books can help readers quickly understand the frontiers of a certain aspect of mathematics, such as the three books in fundamental mathematics—number theory, algebra, and topology—all of which are compiled from the "Encyclopedia of Mathematics" by prominent mathematicians in the field. They are very helpful for mathematicians engaged in this research to understand the frontiers and overall picture of the field. According to the characteristics of the disciplines, the fundamental mathematics books are mainly "classics," while the applied and computational mathematics books are mainly "frontiers." Most of the authors of these books are internationally renowned great mathematicians, such as the author of the book "Topology," Novikov, who is an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and has won the "Fields Medal" and the "Wolf Prize in Mathematics." The works of these great mathematicians will undoubtedly play a very good guiding role for researchers in our country. Of course, 23 books can only cover a part of mathematics, so this work should continue. Furthermore, some books with a broader readership should be translated into Chinese and published to reach a larger audience.
