Features: To better develop the mathematical cause of our country, mathematicians need to be detached from fame and fortune and make more arduous efforts. On the other hand, we must objectively create a more favorable external environment for mathematicians to develop the mathematical cause, primarily by strengthening support and investment in mathematics, providing mathematicians with better working and living conditions, and improving and enhancing mathematical publishing. In terms of publishing, in addition to publishing our own achievements well and quickly, introducing advanced publications from abroad is undoubtedly also very important and essential. From the perspective of mathematics, Springer remains the most authoritative publisher in the world to this day. Science Press has reprinted a batch of their newly published books, enabling a large number of mathematicians in our country to purchase them at lower prices, especially mathematicians working in remote areas who can widely access these books, which is undoubtedly very beneficial for promoting scientific research and teaching in mathematics in our country. This time, Science Press purchased the copyright and reprinted 23 mathematical books published by Springer, which is a good thing and something worth continuing. Roughly speaking, among these 23 books, there are 5 books on fundamental mathematics, 6 books on applied mathematics, and 12 books on computational mathematics, some of which also have interdisciplinary properties. These books are all very new, with the majority published after 2000, totaling 16 books, and the rest were published after 1990. These books can help readers quickly understand the frontiers of a certain aspect of mathematics, for example, the three books on number theory, algebra, and topology in fundamental mathematics are all chapters of "Encyclopedia of Mathematics" edited by leading mathematicians in the field. They are very helpful for mathematicians engaged in research in these fields to understand the frontiers and overall picture of the field. According to the characteristics of the disciplines, books on fundamental mathematics are mainly "classic," while books on applied and computational mathematics are mainly "frontier." Most of the authors of these books are internationally renowned great mathematicians, such as the author of "Topology," Novikov, who is an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and has won the "Fields Medal" and the "Wolf Prize in Mathematics." The works of these great mathematicians will undoubtedly play an excellent guiding role for researchers in our country. Of course, 23 books can only cover a part of mathematics, so this work should continue. Furthermore, some good books with a broader readership should be translated into Chinese and published to reach a larger readership. In conclusion, I strongly support Science Press's initiative to reprint some mathematical works from Springer and hope this work achieves even greater success.
