Does tetanus injection require saline?

Patient's question:

Recently, I don't know why I've been having high fever that won't go down. The hospital said it's a viral infection. What kind of infectious disease did I get? Do I need to add saline when getting a tetanus shot?

Doctor's answer:

From your description, your wound should be relatively severe, with either deep penetration or severe industrial pollution. Generally, it is necessary to visit an outpatient surgical clinic within six hours of the injury to thoroughly debride and treat the wound. You can repeatedly rinse the wound with hydrogen peroxide and normal saline, followed by povidone-iodine sterilization. If necessary, additional debridement procedures may be required.
Then, administer tetanus antitoxin. It is usually administered as an injection. First, perform a skin test. If the skin test is normal, you can proceed with intramuscular injection using the original solution. For the skin test, saline must be used to dissolve the solution.
