Author: Hunan University Department of Structural Mechanics
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-07-01
Features: This book is revised based on the third edition, according to the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Structural Mechanics Course for Undergraduate Engineering Programs" approved by the State Education Commission in May 1995. The content is appropriately selected, presented in a clear and accessible manner, with a focus on practical applications, and strives to meet the current requirements of teaching reform. The book consists of seventeen chapters, published in two volumes. The first volume contains twelve chapters, including: Introduction, Geometric Analysis of Plane Systems, Internal Force Calculation of Statically Determinate Structures, Virtual Work Principle and Structural Displacement Calculation, Force Method, Displacement Method, Approximate Methods, Influence Lines and Their Applications, Matrix Displacement Method. The second volume contains five chapters, including: Energy Principles, Elastic Stability Calculation of Structures, Dynamic Calculation of Structures, Limit Load of Structures, Structural Calculation Schemes and Simplified Analysis. Each chapter is followed by discussion questions and exercises, with answers to most of the exercises provided. This edition adopts the symbols specified in the National Standard GB3100~3102-93 "Units and Symbols." The book can be used as a textbook for civil engineering, water conservancy, and road-bridge majors in universities, as well as for adult education and self-study examinations. It can also serve as a reference for engineering professionals in related fields.
