How to determine if you have rickets?

Patient's question:

I want to know how to speculate how my child gets rickets? What symptoms does this disease have? How to treat it? How can it leave serious sequelae?

Doctor's answer:

Rickets, also known as vitamin D deficiency rickets, is a systemic, chronic, nutritional disease characterized by bone inflammation, caused by the inability of vitamin D in infants, children, and adolescents to promote calcium and phosphorus metabolism. During this stage, there is often no bone inflammation, and skeletal X-rays may be normal or show slight fibrosis. Blood calcium and phosphorus levels may be elevated, while alkaline phosphatase levels are normal or slightly high. In the early stages of onset, symptoms are often related to increased nervous excitability, such as irritability, restlessness, excessive sweating, and baldness at the back of the head.
