I am a mother, and because of my child, I pay more attention to children's matters. As a television professional, I also focus on what happens on television. This book has shown me a perfect combination of television and children—a group of young television professionals who, for the sake of children, bent down, lowered their perspective, and happily became "child kings." I admire them, like them, and am willing to contribute to their cause. There are also the childhood stories of these famous figures, which are enjoyable to read and thought-provoking. Holding this book in my hands, I return to my childhood.
—Jing Yidan, CCTV Host
Television can express the past, present, and future, while children evoke memories of the past and anticipation of the future. Meaningful things are rarely done by the lucky in a lifetime. I see those great writers and my admirable colleagues at the Children's Channel, who are a group of lucky adults who spare no effort for children's matters. I also see some children who speak their minds and accurately express their inner thoughts with words. In this era where it's hard to find a quiet moment to read, I am willing to pick up such a book, reflecting on my own childhood—was I as lucky as the children of today?
—Bai Yansong, CCTV Host
As a news anchor, it's been a long time since I've read such a "childlike" book. Many chapters are easy and pleasant to read, many reflections are admirable, and many childhood faces remind me of myself. Growth is sometimes a process that cannot be put into words. Today's children grow up with television, cartoons, and the Youth Channel by their side, and I envy them for the richness of their childhood. Wishing the children and the Children's Channel well.
—Hai Xia, CCTV Host
This is a gift. It is a gift for the 3rd birthday of the China Central Television Children's Channel. It is also a gift from the 3-year-old Children's Channel to all the children, young viewers, and everyone who cares about it. With its innate nurturing, a good and relaxed growth environment, and the dedicated care and upbringing of countless people, the Children's Channel has grown up healthy and strong. In the past three years, its steps have been quick and steady. Although the small footprints left behind are not yet clear, each one is deeply etched in the hearts of the television viewers who love it.
The initial idea for this book came from Yu Peixia, Director of the Youth and Children's Programs at CCTV (now Director of the CCTV Children's Channel). As a seasoned television professional with over 30 years of experience in youth and children's television, his feelings for the Children's Channel are self-evident. On the 3rd birthday of his beloved child, he remained modest, simply suggesting an essay competition with the theme "The Children's Channel and My Growth," to hear the voices of the children.
