Features: In the process of receiving education, there are two spirits that are indispensable, one is the national spirit, and the other is the spirit of the times. As a Chinese person, if he receives a relatively systematic education, he should have a profound understanding and mastery of the national spirit. For the essence of our national spirit, even if we cannot name them one by one, we should be familiar with them. The classic works of traditional Chinese culture have a long history and are vast, passing down the splendid civilization of China for five thousand years and embodying the diligence and wisdom of the Chinese nation. Ancient sages organized the main body of historical documents in China according to the system of classifying books into Classics, Histories, Philosophies, and Collections, which also constitutes an important part of traditional culture. Among them, the books in the Classics, Philosophies, and Collections sections have a more significant function in spreading the thoughts of the authors through writing, while the books in the Histories section have a more prominent intention of spreading knowledge by recording objective historical facts. This book selects eighty-eight classic works of traditional culture, including ten books from the Classics section, twelve from the Histories section, thirty-three from the Philosophies section, and thirty-three from the Collections section. The books under each section are arranged in chronological order of their completion. These books have diverse formats and cover topics such as philosophy, religion, economy, education, geography, history, literature, art, astronomy, and science. In addition to introducing the life and writing background of each author, the book focuses on introducing the ideological content of each work and its important status in Chinese history.
