Is the turning negative good?

Patient's question:

I have a relative who used to work odd jobs in a different place. After coming back this time, he told my mom that he had hepatitis and was currently in the stage of minor positive hepatitis B. However, two days ago, he had a thorough check-up, and the doctor said that the minor positive hepatitis B had turned negative multiple times. Is it considered cured if the minor positive hepatitis B turns negative? Will he still be infected?

Doctor's answer:

Hepatitis B is usually transmitted during infancy because the body's immune system is weak, making it more likely to develop chronic hepatitis B or a high viral load. After adulthood, when the immune system is stronger, most people who contract the hepatitis B virus will experience multiple episodes of viral clearance over time. Therefore, if your relative's has appeared multiple times, it indicates that the condition has been resolved and is no longer contagious.
