Is nephritis serious?

Patient's question:

I am 28 years old this year. I was diagnosed with nephritis, with 2 plus signs of protein in the urine. Is it serious? Will it interfere with normal life?

Doctor's answer:

Nephritis is damage to the charge barrier of the kidney's glomeruli, leading to proteinuria. Nephritis is a chronic disease that can be relieved, but active treatment should still be carried out. A small minority of nephritis patients may progress to nephrotic syndrome, and gradually develop into kidney failure and uremia. Early detection of the disease, early prevention, and early treatment can achieve better results.
