Consult about what medicine to take for balanitis

Patient's question:

I recently found out I have balanitis, but I don't know what to do or what medicine to take, so I want to ask what medicine should be taken for balanitis?

Doctor's answer:

Gonorrhea usually presents with symptoms such as redness, swelling, pain, and itching of the glans. It may be caused by factors such as circumcision surgery, poor personal hygiene, or unsafe sexual practices. If diagnosed with gonorrhea, you can soak and clean the affected area with potassium permanganate solution, then apply erythromycin ointment or Bactroban locally. Pay attention to personal hygiene, bathe frequently, and ensure the foreskin is thoroughly cleaned. Change underwear and socks frequently, and avoid unsafe sexual practices. If there is phimosis and recurrent symptoms, it is recommended to undergo circumcision.
