What are the symptoms of gastric neurosis?

Patient's question:

Recently I noticed that my husband's stomach isn't feeling quite well. I found out it's due to gastric neurasthenia. What are the symptoms of gastric neurasthenia?

Doctor's answer:

First of all, this kind of neurasthenia is diagnosed by modern medicine. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, it should be caused by some deficiency of stomach yin and insufficient stomach qi. Patients with this symptom may manifest as many digestive disorders or postprandial abdominal pain. It could also be mental fatigue: such patients often feel mentally exhausted and easily tired. After going to bed in the morning, they feel mentally unwell and force themselves to train, while at night they feel a bit better and their minds are relatively clear. A little bit of mental or physical labor makes them feel exhausted and utterly drained.
Besides being hypersensitive: even a tiny external influence can cause irritation and unease in patients. They are afraid of noise, light, smells, etc. Their emotions are unstable, they are easily angered, and they get agitated over small matters but quickly become tired and weak.
