Features: Developing the modern service industry has become a key measure for China to adjust its economic structure and transform its growth model. To this end, the Industrial Policy Department of the National Development and Reform Commission has entrusted the Basic Industry Research Center of Beijing Jiaotong University to conduct research on the development plans for five critical modern service industries—transportation, modern logistics, postal and telecommunications, urban water supply, and scientific research—for the 11th Five-Year Plan period. The research findings have been submitted as expert opinions to decision-making authorities for reference. The results are now compiled and published with the aim of providing assistance to all parties concerned with the development of these industries.
