Iwao Takashi – Everything About Lily Chou-Chou

Author: [Japan] Shunji Iwai
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-11-01
Features: Guo Jingming and the "Tsuji" Studio collaboratively created this new work. Memory and illusion intertwine, tenderness and cruelty clash! In the vast and tranquil sky, can you hear my cries? Can you accommodate my youth? A brutal coming-of-age story, an innocent era that belongs to us! The story unfolds at the far end of the vast and tranquil pastoral scenery. Renjiro Narita, silently enduring bullying from classmates, gradually becomes introverted and isolated. He finds solace only in the songs of the singer "Lilyweek" and is accustomed to communicating with others on the BBS of Lilyweek's website. In this virtual world, he meets an ID named "Blue Cat." As the words he pours out become increasingly painful, they comfort and warm each other, agreeing to meet at a Lilyweek concert. That night, when Lilyweek's music plays, at the intersection of reality and illusion, it explodes into a brutal coming-of-age story.
Lilyweek was born on December 8, 1980. This date coincides exactly with the date John Lennon was shot to death by a crazy fan, Chapman. However, to me, this coincidence holds no significance. What matters is that on this day, at this moment, Lilyweek was born! This website is a novel. On April 1st, the fan website "Lilyholic" for Lilyweek opens. The story begins here—
Note: In addition to the original novel "Everything About Lilyweek," this book also includes "Everything About Lilyweek: The Movie Manual," edited by Guo Jingming, featuring a panoramic visual record that delves deep into the novel's interpretation and the film's exploration, as well as behind-the-scenes stories of the stars. A beautiful postcard is also included.
