Ye Yonglie - Notes on My Life

Features: Writing has become a part of my life. In my view, works are "frozen time" and "frozen life." Life is only once for a person. I am willing to freeze my limited life in my works, dedicating them to the era and to the readers. A writer needs a certain amount of money as a material guarantee for writing. However, writing solely for money will not be sustainable. For me, I have already passed two "money" tests... One was during the ten years of the "Cultural Revolution," when I earned no royalties for publishing books. I published ten books, and many others were written during that time and published after the "Cultural Revolution." The second is now, when both of my sons have successful careers, and I can live a comfortable life even if I write a single word. I still write every day.
