How is hepatitis C treated?

Patient's question:

In April 2010, there was significant peeling of the gums, snowboard base, low white blood cells, high ALT, and visited Harbin No. 1 Hospital.

Doctor's answer:

If it is confirmed that you are infected with the hepatitis C virus, both platelet count and white blood cell count will decrease, and liver enzymes will definitely decline. Please go to a regular hospital for comprehensive tests of liver function, DNA, and hepatitis C virus RNA. It is recommended to have an ultrasound examination, followed by hepatitis C antibody testing and liver pathology examination. The incubation period of hepatitis C is generally 2 weeks to 6 months. After the hepatitis C virus enters the body, it first causes viremia, which intermittently reappears throughout the course of the disease. If hepatitis C antibody is positive and hepatitis C virus RNA is negative, it proves that you have been infected with hepatitis C. However, due to various reasons, if you currently have antibodies, treatment is not necessary, but a follow-up test should be conducted every year.
