What symptoms can high blood pressure cause?

Patient's question:

During this time, I feel that my body is not very good. My family members doubt that I have high blood pressure. I want to ask what are the symptoms of high blood pressure?

Doctor's answer:

Primary hypertension develops slowly and is often asymptomatic in its early stages. A significant number of patients do not exhibit typical symptoms until their condition progresses to a certain extent. Once hypertension is diagnosed, patients may experience various neurological symptoms, such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, difficulty concentrating, neurasthenia, fatigue, numbness in the limbs, and stiffness or discomfort in the neck. Generally, dizziness accounts for 63.5%, headaches for 55.4%, and heart palpitations for 39.8%. These symptoms are not all directly caused by hypertension; some are due to advanced neuroendocrine dysfunction and lack clinical diagnostic specificity. In some cases, recurrent bleeding in different parts of the body may also occur, and these symptoms may not necessarily align with blood pressure levels. Later-stage symptoms are often caused by heart, brain, or kidney dysfunction or severe complications.
