Features: The Kissing Fish is set against the backdrop of kissing fish, telling a suspenseful, tear-jerking romantic love story that has become a popular choice for lovers to exchange gifts during Valentine's Day. Xiao Ni Zi explains that the reason for choosing kissing fish as the setting is because many people's love is like kissing fish—full of contradictions and duality. Kissing fish will become the most representative embodiment of love after roses and chocolate. The female protagonist of the novel, Yu Ke Qin, is a girl born with congenital heart disease. In the eyes of others, she is always delicate and beautiful. However, when the transfer student from the performing arts department, Begis, attends school for a short time, she discovers that Ke Qin is wearing a black tight skirt and dancing energetically in the center of the dance floor at the famous OPEN bar, drawing a series of screams and whistles. What is going on here? Is it the same person or someone else? Is it a conspiracy or true love? Begis follows the truth along the way, uncovering more oddities and doubts, but also witnessing the most unparalleled legend of true love. This is just like the taste of love that radiates from the novel—sweetness and competition coexist, hope and despair are intertwined, and kissing fish perfectly represents all this, symbolizing all the joys and sorrows of love, as well as the most elusive subtle emotions between lovers. Remember that it was a rainy weekend outside, so we couldn’t go shopping, and ended up staying in our small room at home, reading books. Suddenly, a shout—“Kissing fish, Xiao Ni Zi, look! Kissing fish!” I was so scared that I almost dropped the strawberry cheese cake in my hand. Then I saw her cute face holding a magazine rushing to me: “Kissing fish! Do you know? This fish has to live in pairs; they keep kissing non-stop. And if one dies, the other cannot survive either.” It was just this sentence that suddenly moved me.
