Patient's question:
I am 38 years old. Recently, I feel that my liver is very tired. I haven't had a good appetite. At night, I always feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I went to the nearby hospital for a check-up and was told it was liver disease. They asked me to get an injection. Could you please tell me what tests are available for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positive cases?Doctor's answer:
Hepatitis B requires regular follow-up of liver function, liver ultrasound, hepatitis B DNA, etc. If indicated, early antiviral treatment should be initiated, aiming to prevent liver cirrhosis and maintain normal liver function, with low-level hepatitis B DNA (preferably negative). Avoid alcohol consumption. In the hepatitis B two pairs of half tests, if the hepatitis B surface antigen, e antigen, and core antibody are all positive, the patient is diagnosed as having hepatitis B. During the incubation period or active phase of chronic hepatitis, the patient has high transmissibility, often accompanied by symptoms such as fatigue, vomiting, nausea, and decreased appetite, as well as elevated transaminase levels.
