Does the child not eating constitute anorexia?

Patient's question:

My child seems to be suffering from anorexia. He has absolutely no interest in food and cannot eat at all. Now, the child is extremely thin, and if you force him to eat, he will vomit it out. What should I do if my child refuses to eat and has anorexia?

Doctor's answer:

If the child already has obvious signs of weight loss, it is advisable to take them to the hospital for an early and thorough examination. If it is psychological anorexia, psychological adjustment should be conducted. Currently, oral supplementation with vitamins or other nutrients can be considered to help the child. Alternatively, a method of eating small meals more frequently can be adopted. Psychological approaches can include behavioral correction therapy to help establish bowel habits.
