How to deal with inertia constipation

Patient's question:

Doctor, hello. I have a long-term habit of constipation, but most days I wake up early and go to bed early, don't eat spicy food, have a light palate, drink water daily, eat fruits, and rarely consume items that cause diarrhea. However, I still experience constipation. But I still have the habit of defecating every morning. How can I deal with habitual constipation?

Doctor's answer:

Constipation can be very frustrating, but it is usually caused by unhealthy bowel habits. For those with dry stools accompanied by hemorrhoids, straining during bowel movements can lead to anal fissures. In such cases, using glycerin suppositories to aid bowel movement, combined with taking lactulose, and actively treating hemorrhoids can be beneficial. It is recommended to develop the habit of having a bowel movement at regular times each day. Drinking a cup of warm water with honey upon waking in the morning can help promote intestinal peristalsis and facilitate quick bowel movements. Drinking plenty of water, eating more fiber-rich vegetables, and massaging the abdomen in a clockwise direction are also very helpful.
