When you are hungry, why does your stomach always hurt?

Patient's question:

Usually not painful, especially when hungry. It started hurting after meals yesterday. Before, it would stop hurting after dinner. What's going on? It's like menstrual cramps, but without nausea symptoms. What medicine should I take?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, the stomach bloating you mentioned may be caused by damp-heat in the spleen and stomach, leading to the inability of clear Qi to ascend and the inability of turbid Qi to rise. This upward reversal of turbid Qi results in symptoms such as stomach bloating and belching. Generally, it is difficult for conventional medicine to (treat root-cause) this condition. Traditional Chinese medicine has very unique insights in this regard. I recommend using modified Xuanfu Dazhe Decoction or Sìmó Decoction.
I also suggest taking Kuihua Weikangling. Kuihua Weikangling alleviates discomfort symptoms such as stomach acid, bloating, and pain quickly and effectively. Persistence in taking it can prevent the condition from worsening into chronic gastritis.
In daily life, it is advisable to consume alkaline foods, such as fresh vegetables and fruits like spinach, rapeseed, and cabbage. On the other hand, it is best to limit the intake of acidic foods, such as beans, peanuts, vinegar, and fatty foods.
