Features: The 5th National Conference on Applied Ethics, organized by the Institute of Applied Ethics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Committee, the Office of the Ningxia Spiritual Civilization Construction Guidance Committee, and the Ningxia Ethics Society, was held in Yinchuan from August 21 to 22, 2005. Nearly 100 experts and scholars from the field of ethics in China engaged in in-depth discussions on the theme of "Media Ethics and Harmonious Society." The attending experts and scholars focused on issues such as value conflicts in media ethics, the relationship between media ethics and building a harmonious society, ethical issues in online media, and advertising ethics, conducting multi-perspective and multi-level discussions and exchanges. With the development of science and technology, traditional media such as newspapers, radio, and television coexist with online media, reflecting a situation of mutual compatibility and utilization. At the same time, new media have generated numerous new ethical and moral issues, making media ethics a pressing topic for discussion. As China's media law has not yet been enacted, the discussions at the 5th National Conference on Applied Ethics hold significant practical importance. This book mainly includes several parts: "Theoretical Research on Media Ethics," "Value Conflicts in Media Ethics," "Media Ethics and Harmonious Society," "Ethics of Online Media," "Empirical Research on Media Ethics," "Meeting Summary," and "Introduction to Research Institutions."
