Features: Since 2002, the author has taught the compulsory course "Television Program Research" (later renamed "Television Programs and Channels Research") for undergraduate students in the Department of Film and Television Communication at the School of Arts and Communication, Beijing Normal University. At the beginning of the course, the author faced a major challenge: the lack of teaching reference materials. Moreover, the author believed that this was a common issue among instructors teaching this course. In 2006, it was a springtime when Lady Zou Lanping, a deputy editor at Zhongshan University Press, approached the author to solicit communication studies topics. This finally made it possible for the author to realize this idea. Thus, collecting materials, observing various television programs, journalistic thinking, and organizing years of teaching plans became the main work for the next six months, with the author dedicating an entire summer to writing. And so, the book "Analysis of Television Programs and Channels" was born. Since the 1990s, China's television industry has developed rapidly, but the development of television theory has lagged behind. Particularly, television programs and channels are in constant transformation almost every day. Studying this ever-changing phenomenon as a research subject presents extra difficulties.
